Like the other release, this is still using GCC 3.4.6 and Glibc 2.3.6 with NPTL support. For a complete list of changes since Bluewhite64-current v20060601 check out the Bluewhite64-current v20060609
ChangelogHey, I did not received any bug reports from the previous release, so I consider this a successful port

.
I made some tests with this version and successfully set up a LAMP server, chatted on irc.freenode.net using BitchX

. I leave you to discover the other applications and test them.
Don`t forget to send email with success or failures, bugreports, comments and suggestion to
arny[at]arny.ro .

Bluewhite64 Linux forum.
Happy testing!

Typo
Saturday 03 June 2006 - 12:01:36 There is a small typo in the previous news, the all four software series was NOT compiled with gcc 3.3.6.
Correct is: All four software series was compiled with
GCC 3.4.6 .... Sorry for this typo.
In the other news, I activated the Bluewhite64 Linux Forum page. You can post bug reports, impressions, comments and suggestions. Also, if you need support, you can post in the Bluewhite64 Support area.
Welcome to the Bluewhite64 Linux Project
Tuesday 30 May 2006 - 11:44:28 Bluewhite64 Linux is an
UNOFFICIAL port of Slackware® Linux to the AMD64 architecture. This means that it runs on AMD64 based servers and computers. The goal of this port is to mimic the user experience of the Intel x86 distribution at it's best. I will try to include the same software, configuration scripts and so on. If you notice any differences between Bluewhite64 and the original Slackware, don't hesitate to email me.
This is the first Bluewhite64-current release
(testing purposes only!). I only ported the
A, D,
K and
L software series. Next week, I will add the
AP and
N software series, but first, I need to correct some bugs (if any should be found

).
Please test it as much is possible and send your reports to arny at bluewhite64.com.All four software series are built on the 2.6.16.16 Kernel with gcc 3.3.6 and glibc 2.3.6 with NPTL support.
At boot, you can find two generic kernels:
bare.i (with most IDE/ATAPI support) and
sata.s (with SATA disk support). More kernels will be added in the next testing release.
To download Bluewhite64-current iso, please see the
Get Bluewhite64 page.
Please send comments and bug reports to arny at bluewhite64.com.
Enjoy
Huge thanks to:
Patrick Volkerding for creating Slackware Linux
